“She was kahuna, creating more life around her than was actually there, heightening the momentousness of each living thing by simply gazing upon it.”
~ Kiana Davenport

Language

it comes in many forms. It universally affects our senses, bringing an awareness of our connection to each other, to ourselves and to our world. Expression, whether it be verbally, through the written word, creatively in visual arts or tunes from an instrument…we are moved by the emotion and memories that they conjure within us. These are some of my favorites. This is where I travel ~ to escape, reflect, decompress, envision and feel. My tastes vary and are widely diverse, as each of us are quite unique in our beauty. I’d love to hear some of your own suggestions to add to my list so send them my way…I look forward to flipping a page, hitting the play button with a bowl full of popcorn and turning up the volume!

Design Sponge at Home

Design Sponge at Home

This design book is a must have for anyone who is looking for ideas! Honestly, it’s one of my inspirational bibles that I go to frequently. Grace Bonney has a way of presenting design that feels attainable and easy to re-create. What I love about this book is that there are such a variety of styles and ideas to use in our own spaces whether it be an overall change in your abode or little nooks of inspiring sprinkles by adding things that you love into your style. The icing on the cake? There is a D.I.Y. section full of projects that you can try out that are light on the budget!

Summertime

(1955) To celebrate this season, I’ve chosen a film that is dear to my heart! The scope of films that I watch range from this sweet film to some pretty disturbing documentaries and as I’ve said, they touch all of our senses. This movie captures my heart for so many reasons ~ romance, humor, emotion & travel…I adore Katharine Hepburn spunk!

Zucchero

Zucchero

Because his music is soulful, sticking with the Italian theme here of just soaking up the freedom of feeling the hopefulness & warmth of what the rhythm brings to our days. You can rock out while cleaning, ease into your sofa with a book or hang out with your family to his music.
